Valio USA is recruiting for a Financial Analyst who will report to the Director of Finance. This position will be responsible for strategic analyses, fact-based decision making, forecasting, and budgeting in support of the entire organization, with emphasis on sales. The Financial Analyst must possess a strong accounting background and be able to analyze historical financial data, predict future results, drive efficiency, and explore the feasibility of new item launches. The ideal candidate will maintain transparency in ways of working and communicating, execute reports with the highest level of accuracy, be collaborative, proactive, analytical, motivated and detailed-oriented.

This position will begin remotely with some in-person office work. However, candidates must be available to work on-location in the Parsippany, NJ office pending company’s return-to-office status.


• Evaluate and report on financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results to budget and latest estimates
• Analyze product and customer profit and loss (P&L) statements as assigned, including new item launches
• Monitor product and customer profitability, alert senior management of items and/or customers at risk, and recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data
• Conduct analyses of sales, trade spend, cost of goods, transportation, etc. and identify opportunities to drive sales and profitability
• Increase productivity by developing standard reports and forecasting tools within PowerBI
• Liaison with and develop post-trade promotional insights and ROI calculations for the sales department
• Support fixed cost planning by developing annual budgets and maintaining monthly updates
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial

• Maintain and monitor all financial KPI’s in Excel and PowerBI
• Develop tools to monitor trade spend and analyze post-promotional ROI using IRI
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting requests and financial calculations and present findings to the Valio USA Management Team

• 5+ years of experience in retail business, manufacturing, accounting, or a finance related role (experience in CPG/Food industry is a plus)
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel; must be proficient with other Microsoft Office products
• Familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
• Strong understanding of an ERP system and reporting tools (SAP, PowerBI and IRI experience is preferred)
• Report and variance analysis experience with focus on sales, direct import, and/or co-manufacturing
• Detail-oriented and capable of organizing large data sets from multiple sources
• Analytical with strong financial modeling experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience working with, and presenting to, senior executives
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA, FMVA) is a plus

• Bachelor’s Degree Accounting / Finance or similar degree
